  • 1. Anti-Cancer Drug- A Poprhyrin based molecule has been synthesized in our lab in a simple way and tested for anti-cancer/tumor activity. The result is very promising which can be put into clinical trials. The molecule with specific modifications and improving the treatment procedure, especially for tumor localized near the surface (combination of chemotherapy and photo dynamic therapy) has the potential of surpassing the best known cancer drugs.
  • 2. Chemical Sensor- A Porphyrin based molecule (has been synthesized in our lab in a simple way with modest yield. The purification step is extremely simple and the compound can sense the presence of Cadmium(II) ion in parts per trillion level( 10-12 M) level selectively in presence of other interfering ions like, Zn, Cu, Co, Hg etc. The method used is fluorescence sensing in aqueous media. The detection limit is the lowest to be reported so far exceeding the previous reports by a factor of 105. Sagacious Reference No: SR_201617_7252
