Overview

With the retail industry charting a higher growth trajectory, there is an unprecedented demand for nearly 3.25 million trained personnel both in India and abroad. The BBA (Retail Marketing) program offered by University of Technology and Management (UTM), Shillong aims to fill this very gap between demand and supply by offering training to students in subjects that deal with this domain. The program aims at developing such professionals by imparting them knowledge about the basics of retail as a business as well as in outs on various aspects of retail marketing. Students will be encouraged to take up various real-life projects by visiting different stores as part of their course curriculum – which will provide them real life feel and hands-on knowledge of retail marketing. While food and grocery and apparels are the two major sectors of retailing, students undergoing this course can easily fit into any other kind of retail business.
